What Role Do Fate and Destiny Play in Your Life?

“As we move through life, the force of fate creates events that we only appreciate when we reflect on our existence.”- Ronald Harmon.

Fate is the development of events beyond human control, as determined by God. The Bible teaches that people have free will and have been exercising it since they were created. Sometimes, our choices cause life-affecting consequences; it is God’s decisions that keep us away from unwanted circumstances and avoid catastrophe. God is omnipotent and has full control over everything that occurs in the universe. Consequently, even if we make bad choices, God is still in control and has better plans for us. God promises that His plans are for our good. We will never feel disappointed when we follow the Lord’s will for our lives. It is the reason that we are destined to follow God’s command, to trust Him as our Lord, and to have a relationship with Him.

Moreover, we have limited knowledge and wisdom; therefore, we should lean and trust God. God is omniscient and has divine foreknowledge of true propositions.  God has knowledge which no one can surpass. By following God’s command and trusting what God holds for us is for our well-being, we believe that indeed God does have a plan for our life.

God is working behind the scenes, arranging things in our favor; He is making a way where we don’t see a way. So we do not need to be stressed out or try to force everything to happen; we only need to trust God and keep God in the first place. Consequently, we will come into these destiny moments where we see God supernaturally protecting us. It is where we see God’s help moving the circumstances in our favor. For instance, it could be a problem that we are incapable of solving for years, it suddenly gets resolved miraculously, or an opportunity of a lifetime is suddenly in front of you, or we meet the right person at the right moment are the destiny moments that God already holds for us.

Ways to Turn Fate in Your Favor

  • Fate brings you opportunities; our free will and choices may perplex us.

Fate is the destiny that is pre-planned for us; it brings potential possibilities in our life. These possibilities have been carefully mapped out for us and provide us with the opportunities to avail. For instance, it could be an informal introduction to someone or listening to an inspiring talk, or watching a thought-provoking movie. Fate presents us with opportunities, allowing us to use our free will to reach up to them. Since our knowledge and wisdom are limited, our choices and free will might confuse us.  Instead of blaming ourselves for the wrong decision and blunders, trust God and stay in peace, knowing that God has complete control over everything. Eventually, we see God’s hand of favor for us.

  • Fate is waiting for us to pick the opportunity we want

Most of us fail to recognize that fate provides valuable prospects that could lead us towards success. This implies that we should use our free will to take appropriate actions to grab the opportunity. Using our decision power, we should plan carefully to seize an opportunity. Many people miss such opportunities by being engrossed in daily routine tasks. They seem relaxed with the life pattern that they fail to see the fate knocking with unique possibilities. Consequently, they miss the chance that could change their life unexpectedly.

  • We have to be open to making changes to see fate knocking at us

When we feel stuck and confused, we shut ourselves off from new options that fate is trying to provide us. If we continue to react negatively, we might not grab the new opportunities driven by fate. Consequently, changing behavior allows us to get prepared to seize something new that fate has provided.

  • We can’t change our fate, but our free will can postpone destructive patterns.

Fate is constantly bringing opportunities; we need to be conscious enough to see them. Sometimes, we calculate everything carefully, but the situation changes that unexpected cause event to happen. Therefore, we should change the direction of our thinking, evaluate, and plan carefully. By avoiding self-sabotaging patterns can delay misfortune to happen.

Conclusion

Trusting God’s plan for your life begins when you realize the plan is not yours.  If you have an urge to change your lifelong dream,  you have to believe in God. God works in mysterious ways.  He can make things happen that you could never happen on your own. Therefore, it is essential to use your free will and choice to analyze which opportunities you can seize.
